It may seem contradictory to say that Bergen County has affordable homes given that the median listing price here is in the range of $700,00. However, the term affordable is always relatively subjective, and Bergen County provides so much in terms of life quality, that homebuyers believe the extra cost is worth it.

Bear in mind that the County is very much a buyers market. In the early part of 2024, over 500 homes were added to the housing stock one of the highest amounts in all of the state of New Jersey. For education, public and private elementary, middle, and high schools in Bergen County are some of the best in the country. Glen Rock High School was awarded the 2018 National Blue Ribbon Awardee. Bergen County schools like Luther Lee Emerson School, Harrington Park School District, and Washington Irving School No. 4 were also given Blue Ribbon Recognition.
